So many of Rose’s students struggle with the concept and practice of meditation, and it could just be because of poor teaching methods or an untethered regime. In this podcast Rose explains how a good meditation regime can benefit not just us as writers, but us as people.

Suffering and silence are the two magic ingredients to becoming a better writer. It was Aristotle who taught us that pity, fear and catharsis are integral to every compelling story. But is that the case for us as people, and as writers too? And how can meditation help us with integrating and transforming suffering – through silence?

In this podcast Rose discusses all she’s learned about suffering and silence through life and various meditation practices over the years, including Transcendental Meditation. Skip to around 14 minutes to get straight to the meditation practice. Let us know how you go by heading to @heartwriting.com.au, or email  rose@heartwriting.com.au.
